Finding reasonably priced and quality men’s clothing has been a challenge for the majority of my adult life. Off the shelf, most men’s dress shirts have always been too short in the sleeves. Typical Big and Tall retailers also failed to meet my build as well.
Shopping options really don’t factor for a person who is 6’7” and over 300 lbs.
The prices for custom clothes and major department stores are not cost-effective at all. Additionally, my experiences with online shopping had been a mixed bag. I have had a great opportunity to travel to Bangkok, Thailand, and get introduced to various options for custom clothes. While the fit was better and the prices were great, service and guarantees were not possible. You had only a week or so before leaving the country on business.
Around this period I also became aware of Woodies Clothing and jumped at the opportunity to try their dress shirts. I also like to see a company offer some form of guarantee. I feel much more comfortable taking a chance when they work with you to make the fit right.
I enjoy the Performance fabrics as they are great casually but my must-have during international travel. Along with the performance chinos, you have easy style and comfort.
The most stand-out request they have managed for me was to deliver the shirts I had ordered directly to where I was staying during one of my Bangkok, Thailand trips.
Currently, I am exclusive shopping for my dress shirts through Woodies, and as they continue to innovate and stand by their guarantees.
My first purchase was back in 2018 and I still get great wear from my shirts back then.
I do not see Woodie’s competitors successfully tackling the basics e.g., make a quality shirt that fits, but also offering great customer service along with innovating on their product selection. I am more than happy to pay a bit more for the shirts knowing the quality and service I am getting.
